Karemajat

Karemajat is located in Ylitornio on top of Ainiovaara with rugged landscapes of southern Lapland. There are splendid open views of the Torne Valley forested hills, the Torne River and Sweden behind the river. The resort offers accommodation, restaurant, catering, party and meeting services.

Accommodation

• The hotel has seven spacious double rooms (25m²). The rooms have a toilet, shower, desk, armchair, TV and radio and free Wi-Fi. The price of the accommodation includes breakfast, which is served at 8-9 in the restaurant with a view.
• Karemajat has three spacious apartments. The apartments have a kitchen, two bedrooms, a living room, a toilet, a shower, a television, a radio and a drying cabinet for clothes, as well as free Wi-Fi.
• There are three types of cabins in the holiday village. All cottages are 35m² in size. The Superb cabins and Special cabins have been renovated inside to be modern, while the basic cabins are more traditional in their interior design. All cabins have an air heat pump.

Restaurant

Lunch, à la carte & breakfast. The wonderful 200-seat restaurant with a view offers a wide variety of Lapland delicacies. A place for lunch or coffee in a wonderful environment, from which there is a great view of the Tornionlaakso. The restaurant is fully licensed, the restaurant-bar also organizes karaoke nights and traditional Finnish dance nights on weekends.

Meeting and party services

You can order a catering service for parties organized at your home, other party spaces or events. You can also organize parties at Karemajat, whose panoramic restaurant can accommodate up to 200 party guests. Karemaja’s hut is a cozy place to warm up for year-round use. The hut is located in the courtyard of Karemajat, with a beautiful vantage point. The hut can also be used as a more relaxed meeting place for a small group (max. 40 people).

Saunas

The sauna department has two electric saunas and a hot tub. You can experience spa experiences in a barrel sauna or spa. While enjoying the warmth of the barrel sauna and spa, you can also be enchanted by the wonderful landscapes of Tornionjokilaakso, the silence and peace of nature or even the northern wind.

Activities

from the yard of Karemajat starts lighted ski trails of different levels and lengths that wander throughout Ainiovaara. There are up to 12 km of lighted trails. Aavasaksa mountain landscape is also well suited for snowshoeing. From the hotel reception you can rent cross-country skis and snowshoes. Behind the hotel you´ll find a 150 meters long lighted sledge slope. For example, husky, reindeer and snowmobile rides can be organized through partners. There is an 18-hole frisbee golf course and various hiking trails in the immediate vicinity of the cabins.
