Mainiemi has nine furnished apartments for four people with their own toilet, stove and television. A few rooms have their own shower facilities, otherwise there are public shower facilities located in the maintenance building. You can freely choose your own place in the camping area, there are caravan/recreational vehicle places and electricity connection places in the camping area. The barbecue area is free for everyone to use and the new kitchen canopy is under construction in 2024. There are laundry facilities in the service building, where you can rent a washing machine or dryer.
There is a barrel sauna at the campsite, which is located on the shore of the clear water Päijänne, you can book the sauna at the reception. There is a public sauna on Wednesdays and Fridays, which is free for customers. Two sandy beaches are perfect for children. There are five guest berths at the boat dock. In addition to tent and campsite accommodation, you will find a cafe and a bar with an extended outdoor terrace in the area, the bar has A-license. Rowing boats and SUP boards are available for rent.
Mainiemi’s old steam saw has been in an area that has been renovated. Events are organized in the premises in the summer, there are performers in the summer, and the Sahan valot event is organized in the late summer. In the sawmill’s old canteen, it is possible to hold various parties and meetings, the premises can accommodate 50 people. The building is 100 years old and has been renovated with the old atmosphere in mind.
The center of Padasjoki is located two kilometers from the campsite, the port has a Padel court and other services (e.g. shop, pharmacy and gas station). The proximity of Päijänne National Park enables versatile outdoor activities, for example cycling or cross-country skiing in winter. Päijänne offers great opportunities for fishing and crabbing.
