Archipelago Centre Korpoström

Located in Southwest Finland, Korpoström, a small island village, on the south shore of the island of Korppoo, near the Archipelago National Park. The Archipelago Center offers hotel and restaurant services, as well as conference facilities and exhibitions. A guest marina is also available.

Visitor center for science, nature, art and culture

The Archipelago Center does interdisciplinary work, with the task of creating exhibitions and events that offer interesting perspectives on the questions and phenomena of the archipelago. The Archipelago Center also functions as a marine biological research station (Åbo Akademi) and as a base for the Archipelago National Park. Through Junior laboratory, the diverse activities of the Archipelago Center are also conveyed to the youngest guests.

Restaurant

Restaurant Sunnan offers a large piece of archipelago scenery to accompany food and coffee. The food is prepared from local and sustainable products, with the seasons in mind. The restaurant loves local ingredients and offers the best pieces from the archipelago, with a daily changing menu. “What the farmers and fishermen bring in in the morning can be found on your plate the same day” – this is the restaurant’s motto. The restaurant has 50 seats and can be reserved for weddings, family parties or larger dinner events. In addition, there are 50 seats on the terrace. It is also possible to book a sauna cabinet with a kitchenette.

Hotel

At Hotel Korpoström you can enjoy the tranquility of the archipelago with modern comforts. Completed in 2009, the hotel has 16 rooms, some of which have a beautiful sea view. The equipment of the rooms includes toilet, shower, TV and internet connection. During the summer season, breakfast and morning sauna are included in the room price. Outside the summer season, breakfast and sauna availability must be agreed separately.

Guest marina

Boat places: 60-70 pcs. The port fee includes the following services: electricity, water, general sauna shifts, showers, toilets, use of the dishwashing area, waste management and septic tank emptying. A paid laundry room is also available. From the beginning of June to the end of August, the port is open daily. Reservations through the hotel reception.

Stores

Artisans from the Archipelago Biosphere Reserve sell their own products in the craft and gift shop next to the main entrance, in connection with the hotel reception. The shop’s opening hours are the same as the exhibitions. It is also possible to buy drinks, fresh bread and other delicacies from the restaurant.

Groups & Meetings

The Archipelago Center offers different services for many different types of groups:

• with archipelago-themed exhibitions, the center is a natural tourist destination for groups visiting the area on buses, bicycles, and motorcycles
• for companies, Korpoström serves as a meeting place in an inspiring environment where you can experience the archipelago together
• for schools and kindergartens Saaristokeskus is an educational environmental and marine biology destination.
  for organizations and associations, Korpoström offers facilities for seminars, lectures, theater and film performances
• through partners it is also possible to order different nature tours and the possibility to rent kayaks (for those with experience). The hotel rents bikes.
