Horseback Riding

Paimentupa organizes scenic trail rides on calm Icelandic horses through the beautiful landscapes of Koli, suitable for beginners as well. The rides last from 1 to 3.5 hours. Additionally, Paimentupa offers arena riding and pony rides for young children. The minimum group size for trail rides is generally 2 people, with a maximum of 6 people.

Accommodation

You can stay year-round in cozy cottages and apartments, or enjoy a more rustic experience in traditional huts during the summer.

Majavaranta is a spacious lakeside cottage at Verkkolampi, only 500 meters from Paimentupa. The cottage features a living room with a fireplace, a kitchen, three bedrooms, and a wood-fired sauna. It accommodates 1 to 7 people. Keloranta is located 1.5 km from Paimentupa at Jerola and offers comfortable accommodation for 1 to 4 people. The cottage has a living room with a fireplace, a kitchen, two bedrooms, and a wood-fired sauna. Vanha Portti is a charming forest cabin located about 10 km from Paimentupa. The cabin accommodates 1 to 4 people, with additional accommodation available in a summer hut for two extra guests.

All cottages are equipped with air-source heat pumps, and pets are welcome. Both Keloranta and Majavaranta offer wireless internet access.

The Paimentupa grounds feature apartments suitable for 1 to 4 people. Paimentyttö has two levels, with a living room and mini-kitchen, a shower/WC, and sleeping areas upstairs, while Paimenpoika is a one-level apartment with a living room, mini-kitchen, and bedroom. Summer huts located on the grounds offer accommodation for 2 to 5 people (10–20 m²). Both apartments and summer huts offer breakfast and sauna options. Additionally, Paimentupa has one parking spot for a motorhome or caravan.

Services

Breakfast can be ordered in advance during the summer months, as well as during the winter holidays (weeks 8–10). Trail snacks can also be booked alongside horseback riding. Paimentupa offers six rental bicycles and a Sunlight T67 motorhome. The facilities at Paimentupa can accommodate about 35 people and are perfect for meetings and parties. Catering is available with advance booking.
