A Bed & Breakfast-style accommodation and restaurant complex operates in Brännboda’s old folk school. The rooms are all in different styles, decorated in different ways, and all rooms are of different sizes. Each room has been renovated during the fall of 2016 and the spring of 2017. The rooms do not have their own shower or toilet, but there are renovated toilets and showers in the corridor. All renovations and finishes have been done with the school’s history in mind and with respect. There is a shed and barbecue area for tourists and hikers in the yard of the public school. There you can stay on the porch, grill your own products, but the restaurant also offers grill products.
There are twenty electric spots on the lawn for motorhomes and wagons. All the services are next door and the beach is only 3 kilometers away. In the summer season, the reception is open from morning to evening, and in the winter season, advance reservation is required. There is a maintenance building with a sauna, showers, a toilet, a place to wash dishes and a place to empty the chemical toilet.
The Kansakoulu’s restaurant offers high-quality food made from domestic ingredients as well as ingredients from local food producers, daily all year round from 11 am. The rich and delicious selection includes, for example, burgers, pizzas and white fish.
Kansakoulu has a ballroom for a hundred people, with A-rights. In the ballroom, you can organize parties from birthdays to weddings. You can also organize parties by reserving the entire house with accommodations. The banquet hall has a small performance stage, ten tables for 10 people. The premises can be decorated as you wish for your party. If necessary, the Kansakoulu also provides a program for your events.
Kansakoulu can organize trips to nature through partners. In summer, you can camp along the Rannikko’s cycling route. The folk school also has bicycles for rent. Nearby is the Bengtskär lighthouse, which is the tallest lighthouse in the Nordic countries and the southernmost travel destination in Finland.
