A traditional and atmospheric homestay in Ritvala, Valkeakoski, on the shores of the scenic Vanajavesi Lake. The house is located halfway between Tampere and Helsinki and offers guests the opportunity to relax in a 19th-century atmosphere, surrounded by nature.

Isän talo

The house offers peaceful accommodation in the heart of the countryside, on the south-facing shore of Lake Vanajavesi. Guests stay in a spacious and well-equipped apartment in the new end of the main building.

The home has five spacious rooms, a kitchen, two hallways and a glass veranda. The living area is 177 m² in total, and there are 10 + 2 beds. The kitchen is well-equipped: an electric stove and oven, a wood-burning stove, a baking oven, a dishwasher, a refrigerator, a freezer, a microwave and the necessary utensils for cooking and dining. There is also a toilet, a shower and a washing machine. The heating is powered by electricity, an air-source heat pump and wood.

The courtyard building has a wood-heated sauna and its own, gently deepening sandy beach. The courtyard is located at the end of the road, in the middle of nature – an ideal place for peace and quiet and a self-sufficient retreat. There is another home in the same courtyard, but the next neighbor is half a kilometer away.

Departure cleaning and dishes are the responsibility of the guest. People in the area move and live with respect for nature.

If you want to organize a birthday party at the house, catering can be arranged through our partners. You can bring your own bed linen and towels or rent them on site. Final cleaning can also be ordered separately.
