Located in the atmospheric, historic factory premises of the Manner mechanical engineering workshop, Hanko Museum offers immersive exhibitions: Where land and sea meet, Adelaide and Flash – visit Hanko in the 1870s. The exhibitions introduce you to Hanko’s history and maritime life.

Where land and sea meet
The main exhibition takes you on a journey through Hanko’s history, maritime landscapes and life in the archipelago. Experience the feelings of emigration, dive on shipwrecks and peek into a 19th-century villa.

Adelaide
A unique costume collection tells the story of six generations through fabrics and craftsmanship. The exhibition features women’s and men’s clothing that exudes history and careful preservation.

Flash
The exhibition presents Hanko in its early years – as a port city that rose from nothing. Learn about the birth of the city and see rare watercolors of the landscapes of the 1870s.

Services

The museum has a coffee machine, barrier-free access and accessible facilities. Prams can be left outside or inside, and there is a changing table in the spacious toilet. You can also book a 45-minute guided tour for your group (max. 25 people) that will introduce the main contents of the exhibition. Museum card in use.
