Tentsile

There are five tentsile tree accommodations available. Hanging tentsile tree accommodations between the trees serve the nature traveler who wants to experience nature in every cell, hear the sound of birch leaves, the rustle of the wind, the crackling of rain and wake up to the song of a bird.

Shed’s

There are three cozy sheds in use that have been completed in 2019-2021. There are a total of 12 beds. In two sheds it is possible to bring pets. There is one old-fashioned shed in use, completed in 1943. All sheds has 5 star frame mattress.

Whether you stay in a shed, wooden accommodation or a glamor tent, the price of the stay includes breakfast. The company offer also a unique experience to enjoy the good features of a peat sauna and variety of sauna and wellness services. Check in time is 14.00.

Location and surroundings

Itärajan Helmi is located on a high hill (128m above sea level). The hill has beautiful views directly on Lake Tohmajärvi, surrounded by a field opening and behind it a birch and pine forest. In nature you can hike, collect berries, explore the environment and admire the vegetation / birds.

Activities

In Tohmajärvi you can go horseback riding (Hiidensuo stables) or swim at the Beach of Dreams. For fishermen, Jänisjoki offers dozens of rapids and streams. There are built rest areas in the river landscapes, which are used by all those who move in nature. There are several routes of different lengths for hiking, cycling or even kayaking. For birds watchers Tohmajärvi and especially Värtsilä are widely known among bird enthusiasts.
