Villa Kukkapää is located in South Savo province, Sulkava, on the shores of lake Saimaa. The large and comfortable Villa Kukkapää offers a unique setting for an unforgettable vacation. The historic villa, which served as Sulkava sawmill’s headquarters in the 20th century, has been renovated with respect for the old and equipped with modern conveniences.
The villa and sauna building can comfortably accommodate up to ten people, which means it is perfectly suited for a larger family, a small group or, for example, two families who want to vacation together. The 250 m2 villa has five bedrooms, a well-equipped large kitchen, a tiled stove and an open fireplace. There is a large sauna building right on the shore of Saimaa. There is more than 200 m of our own gentle, child-friendly sandy beach. The sauna has two heaters, a fast electric heater and a wood-heated, experiential Aito-Kiuas. In addition to accommodation, the sauna building has its own kitchen and lounge. The plot has e.g. grass field for playing badminton and volleyball.
The starting point of the Vilkaharju nature trail is 2 km away. The nature trail presents the beautiful ridge nature of the area, its fauna and flora, geology and history. Along the nature trail is one of Finland’s largest boulders. The trail has two parts and one of them has a shed where you can enjoy a picnic lunch.
Sulkava is a famous area from rowing. You can take trips to the nearby area with the rowing boat that is part of the cottage’s equipment. You can also order a church boat to the villa and enjoy boat trips for the whole group.
There is a free Frisbeegolf course in the center of Sulkava (distance 6.5 km) around the sports hall. Ruunarinne skiing center in Savonlinna (35 km) and Hasamäki (30 km). Sulkava has a well-maintained network of tracks, tracks are also made on ice whenever possible.
