Tunturikeimiö

Located in Muonio, Jerisjärvi, in the northwestern part of the Lapland province. Tunturikeimiö offers accommodation and food services as well as meeting facilities for all customers and groups. If you want to experience the peace of Lapland’s wilderness nature in a cozy environment and in the cleanest air in the world, Tunturikeimiö is exactly your destination.

Accommodation

There are a total of 45 beds in the resort. Accommodation is available all year round in three different buildings: Maja, Kieppi and Takatasku-cottage. In addition, there is a cafe, 4 different saunas and a hut in the area.

The house has 9 rooms, a customer kitchen, a large dining room, a kitchen, a fireplace, a TV corner, a canteen, office spaces, sanitary facilities and maintenance facilities. Kiepi, which was completed in early 2007, has 6 rooms, a lounge and a kitchen on the upper floor. Downstairs there is a sauna section and a fireplace room, which is suitable as a meeting and party space. The takatasku-cottage is located on the shore of fresh Naistenlampi. Cottage is in its own peace at the end of the pond, approx. 300 meters from the main building Maja. The cottage can accommodate 4-5 people.

Cafe and restaurant

The cafe and restaurant serves all visitors to the fell and passers-by within the opening hours. In the cafe you can find e.g. homemade pastries, ice cream and souvenirs. At the restaurant, you can get dishes made from local ingredients, which can be customized according to the customer’s needs, e.g. vegetarian food.

Private events

For example, Yoga retreats have been organized in Tunturikeimiö, and you can also organize birthdays, memorial events, weddings, Christmas parties and work well-being day.

Activities

There is plenty to see and experience near Tunturikeimiö: Keimiötunturi, Särkitunturi, Pyhäjoki nature trail, Punainenhiekka, Keimiöniemi fish ponds, Vaeltajan risti and Pallastunturi. The country’s largest ski centers Levi (40 km), Ylläs (55 km), Olos (15 km) and Pallas (15 km) are all less than an hour away by car. If you wish, you can also choose a reindeer, husky or sleigh safari.

When there is no snow, you can best enjoy the peace and quiet of wilderness nature on hiking trips in the fells or boat trips on nearby lakes and rivers.
