There are 70 rooms and accommodation for 150 guests. The rooms are standard single, twin and family rooms, with doubles also available. In addition to the standard rooms, we also have two larger suites and a junior suite, all including a Finnish sauna and premium rooms for two with higher level services. Some of our rooms include a balcony overviewing the beautiful riverbed of Jalonuoma. Our rooms are accessible to all. Breakfast, high-quality spa and gym services are included in the accommodation and are available to you during the spa’s opening hours.
À la Carte Restaurant Kiannon Kuohu. The view from our restaurant opens up to the naturally beautiful riverbed of Jalonuoma and the forest of Kainuu region standing tall beside the sparkeling water. The restaurant has approx. 150 table seats and room for evening events for up to 400 people. The à la carte menu is always renewed according to the season.
Pub Jalonraitti offers a genuine pub atmosphere! In our pub you can listen to your favourite songs, sing karaoke or have a great upbeat party night. We also have a pool table and darts to keep the evening eventful.
The pool area has a 25 metre long exercise pool with four lanes, a safe children’s pool with two slides, a jacuzzi, cold dipping pool and a recreational pool with massaging jets. In addition to the Finnish saunas, there is also a herbal steam sauna. You can also book yourself a unique golf experience in a golf simulator year-round. Additionally, they rent frisbee golf discs at the spa reception for the nearby disc golf area.
The meeting rooms and services of Hotel Kiannon Kuohut provide an excellent environment for successful meetings and events. They will see that you have all necessities for your meetings to be perfect. All meeting rooms are equipped with modern meeting technology. You can arrange your meetings also in our cosy sauna cabinet.
In the summer, you can directly access versatile outdoor trails from the hotel yard. You can go hike, bike and even go lure or fly fishing in Jalonuoma, the old Emäjoki riverbed right next to the hotel. In the are there is a play and sports park Humula, which has many things to do for both children and adults.
In winter, you can go snowshoeing in the surrounding grounds or cross-country skiing on the well-maintained ski tracks. There is about 30 km of cross-country ski trails. Snowmobiling at Suomussalmi is one of most popular hobbies of our winter travellers. Suomussalmi has over 500 km of marked snowmobile tracks, and we have a marked track from our hotel to reach those official trails.
There are many nature destinations in Suomussalmi to relax and rewind throughout the year. There is Kurimo culture trail and Old Kurimo, the waterfall of Varisköngäs, and many hiking trails such as Varisjärvi-Saarijärvi, Säynäjäsuo, Seitenahveninen and Pesiö.
