Accommodation

You can choose between two types of cabins: a small cabin or a large log cabin. The small cabin accommodates 1-4 people. The large log cabin can be booked for just the ground floor, which accommodates up to 4 people, or you can book the entire cabin, which fits 1-8 people.

The campsite offers spots for motorhomes and caravans, with access to kitchen facilities, showers, and toilets. The price includes electricity and access to a general sauna session. These same facilities, including the sauna, are available for those staying at the tent sites.

You can also book a private sauna session in the electrically heated beach sauna before or after the general sauna times. The sauna accommodates up to 10 people and includes changing rooms, a toilet, a shower room, outdoor benches for cooling off, and a path leading to the dock where you can take a refreshing dip in the lake. You are welcome to bring your own drinks and food to the sauna. For a more exclusive experience, the wood-heated sauna is available for small groups, with only one group renting it per evening.

Restaurant

During the high season, the restaurant serves a tasty and filling breakfast, which must be ordered at least a day in advance. Group lunches for up to 40 people are also available upon request.

Shop and gas station

The Galdotieva Fell Center is the last border shop on the way to Norway, making it a convenient stop to refuel both yourself and your vehicle before continuing your journey.

Location and activities

Located right on the shore of Lake Palojärvi, Galdotieva is surrounded by stunning wilderness. Palojärvi is a historic Sámi village where traditional reindeer herding is still practiced. In the summer, you can hike the treeless fells, paddle, fish, and cycle. Autumn offers spectacular fall colors, while winter activities include skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing, and watching the northern lights. You can also experience the quiet beauty of the kaamos (polar night) by a campfire. The center is popular among snowmobilers and hunters, and offers fatbikes and kayaks for rent.

Galdotieva is a shared stop for both tourists and locals!
