For the first time in Finland – 48 hours in Helsinki
We have arrived in Finland for the first time and we are excited to start our 48-hour winter Christmas and European holiday here in Helsinki.
The first holiday day of epic European Christmas, which she (Jess) has dreamed of as a child, begins with hot cocoa and roasting sausage with fire in a red cottage. Next we had to try the Finnish tradition and warm up in the sauna and then jump into the icy cold water. Then we tried to find a Christmas market, but we were already late. So we resorted to the hot Glög before going to the night stay.
The next day we went to the market square to try a warm creamy salmon soup, after which we headed to Christmas Street (Aleksanterinkatu). Christmas socks were found that are needed for our next stop.
