Hotel Golden Dome is a comfortable and high-quality hotel in a quiet location near the center of Iisalmi. The hotel offers 36 individually decorated rooms, which can accommodate a total of about 70 guests. The hotel is a perfect setting for meetings, seminars and parties – the premises can accommodate events for up to 100 people. The hotel is easy to reach thanks to excellent transport connections. Breakfast is always included in the room reservation, and can also be ordered directly to the room if desired.

Restaurant Dome

Restaurant Dome serves traditional and modern flavors, emphasizing local ingredients and Savo cuisine. Choose from carefully designed set menus or dishes from a diverse à la carte menu. A high-quality wine list completes the experience.

History

Hotel Golden Dome in Iisalmi combines Karelian evacuee tradition, Orthodox culture and Byzantine style. The building, completed in 1989, was previously known as the Evacuee Centre and Hotel Artos. The current hotel opened in 2016, and its interior design shows the unique handiwork of materials and artworks ordered from Constantinople. The hotel’s golden dome and the authentic Karelian pies for breakfast speak of the tradition of evacuee women, which is still very much alive.
