Accommodation

Papinniemi Camping offers a diverse selection of cottages that are suitable for couples, families and larger groups. The accommodation options include comfortable cottages for 2–8 people, with basic amenities such as a living room with kitchen, bedroom and some with their own toilet, bathroom, hot tub or outdoor jacuzzi. The cottages are surrounded by a peaceful lake landscape, and most are located right by the shore. In addition, there are more special options available, such as a traditional barn, an atmospheric sauna raft and the new Kehto cottage for summer 2025 – pets are welcome in all accommodations.

Caravans can set up in Papinniemi, right next to the shore of Lake Pyhäjärvi. There is a beautiful beach on both sides of the peninsula and large trees in the middle that provide shade. The area is famous for its tranquility, beauty and cleanliness. In addition to the services of the holiday village, there are 2 maintenance buildings with clean and relatively new facilities for cooking and washing.

Camping in Papinniemi is easy and comfortable. You can pitch your tent near the beach near the trees that shade it or on the ridge in the peace of nature and enjoy the scenery. A tentsile, or a tent suspended from a tree, offers accommodation for 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Restaurant

The recently renovated restaurant has about 30 seats inside and plenty of additional seats on the terrace area. The restaurant’s terrace offers a magnificent view of the beautiful Pyhäjärvi Lake. The terrace is partially glazed, so it is nice to spend time on the terrace even in bad weather. The restaurant is licensed to serve alcohol and has a wide selection of microbrewery beers.

The restaurant offers a wide variety of local dishes. Almost all the main ingredients are local and many are also organic. Papinniemi Camping also organizes private events and creates a menu according to your wishes. You can also order a burger truck for your own events in the nearby area (min. 40 people)

Events

During the summer, Papinniemi Camping hosts various events featuring live artists and bands. The program includes atmospheric evenings with music and good company in a stunning lakeside setting.

Activities

It is possible to book a sauna raft cruise, which will allow you to explore the magnificent landscapes of Pyhäjärvi Lake – the cruise lasts about 3 hours. SUP boards, fat bikes and electric fat bikes, a beach sauna, kayaks, canoes and a rowing boat are available for rent. There is a Frisbee golf course and a playground in the area. Uukuniemi offers good hiking opportunities, you can explore the ice age trail or paddle to Vahasaari rock for a soot-pan coffee.
